The last four conferences/events I've attended have been almost soley focused on either Web 2.0, community or social media. Today I ventured outside that box and back into my past life to attend Boston Interactive Media's 3rd annual cross-media summit. The good news was that keynote speaker, Technorati Chairman and CEO, Peter Hirshberg, didn't disappoint. The bad news was that I realized after Peter's talk that I had next to no interest in the two panels that ensued. That last statement is not ...     Read entire post

The timing of the Office 2.0 conference couldn't be worse. Two of my three children started school last week (my middle child entering kindergarten). Our company was preparing to launch a new brand and product strategy on Monday and I was on the hook for creating several key presentations/deliverables. Just to complicate things, I also needed to re-launch our We Are Smarter site so that we could feature it at this event which was not small feat. It was worth the pain. Mainly because of what I l ...     Read entire post

People tell me that I'm well-networked. I guess it's somewhat true. I have over 400 people in Outlook/Plaxo, 200+ contacts on LinkedIn and north of 80 friends on Facebook. With that said, I don't hold a candle to my friend, Mukund Mohan, of Innovis (pictured right with Robert Scoble.) I met Mukund at our Community 2.0 event this past March. The thing I loved about Mukund was that 15 minutes after meeting him, I felt like I had known him for years. We went on to do a couple of webinars together ...     Read entire post

Cross-posted on Shared Insights.com Om Malik. You may have heard his name before. He cut his teeth as a senior writer at the company that coined the term "2.0" (Business 2.0) and he owns one of the most popular blogs on the Internet (Giga Om.) This morning at the 2007 Office 2.0 Conference, he moderated a panel titled "The Future of Work." Not surprisingly, the panel did not disappoint. Joining Om were Steve Alterich from Intuit, Dennis Browne from SAP, Jonathan Rochelle f ...     Read entire post

Cross-posted on sharedinsights.com Over the past several years, I've had the opportunity to try a number of different mobile devices made by some of the best and brightest companies out there. It started with the Palm V back in the late 90's. It was cool and had a great interface but it's mobile capabilities (like any others at the time) were weak at best. In 2001, I migrated to the Blackberry 850. It was strictly an e-mail device. And for that purpose, it did a great job. I made my way throug ...     Read entire post
